Registered fillers vs unregistered: the dissolvability question
With genuine hyaluronic acid filler, almost any problem has an exit: an enzyme dissolves it. Unregistered filler removes the exit. That is the entire comparison.
Verified against manufacturer records and MOH registration. Last updated July 2026.
What is actually at stake
Registered HA fillers have two safety nets: known composition, and reversibility with hyaluronidase if the result is wrong or a vessel is compromised. Unregistered product cuts both: it may not be pure HA (permanent or semi-permanent substances are common in grey product), meaning it may not dissolve, and its behaviour under the skin is unknown. Filler's rare but serious emergency, vascular occlusion, is treatable in minutes with hyaluronidase when the product is genuine HA. With unknown product, that treatment may simply not work.
If the price is this low, it is not real
Registered brand filler at licensed clinics: RM1,000 to 1,800 per ml verify. Grey-market and salon filler: RM300 to 600 per ml. The genuine product alone costs clinics a substantial share of the legitimate price. RM399 per ml is not a promotion, it is a different substance.

How to tell real from fake
- 1Only be injected by an LCP licensed doctor at an MOH registered clinic. Check any doctor's licence first; it takes two minutes.
- 2Ask the filler brand by name and confirm it is registered in Malaysia. Real answers sound like specific brand and product line names, not "imported HA".
- 3Watch the box and syringe opened in front of you: sealed, branded, lot-numbered, in date.
- 4Ask "is this pure hyaluronic acid, and can it be dissolved with hyaluronidase?" A licensed doctor answers yes instantly, and stocks hyaluronidase on site.
- 5Refuse pre-filled unlabelled syringes, home visits, and salon injections categorically. All three are the unregistered supply chain.
What unregistered filler means when something goes wrong
The everyday failures are lumps, migration, and chronic inflammation from impure product, sometimes appearing years later as granulomas that need excision. The acute failure is the one that matters most: if filler compromises a blood vessel, minutes count and hyaluronidase is the rescue, but it only rescues genuine HA. Unregistered product of unknown composition can leave the doctor treating a vascular emergency with no working antidote. Nobody thinks about dissolvability until the day it is the only thing that matters.
