Planning Around Rejuran: Work, Makeup and Events
Plan as if you may have visible marks for a while, and keep the days before anything important free. Nobody can promise you an exact recovery time, but you can choose a date that still works if yours takes longer.

Key points
- Plan for possible small injection marks or bumps, redness, swelling or bruising; ask your doctor what to expect for your area.
- Do not book a first session just before a wedding, photoshoot, presentation or flight you care about.
- Ask the doctor what they expect for your area and technique, and get makeup and skincare instructions in writing.
- A “zero downtime” advert is not a guarantee for you.
What you may notice
The manufacturer's instructions for Rejuran, Rejuran i and Rejuran s list possible injection-site reactions: redness, swelling, itching or pain, small lumps or firmness (nodules or induration), and discolouration. The instructions do not say how often these happen. Bruising at injection points is also possible with facial injections. Not everyone gets these, and how long any reaction lasts varies with the product, area, technique and your skin.
Ask the treating doctor what they expect for your plan. No universal recovery timeline applies to everyone, so plan for uncertainty and follow your doctor's written advice.

How to time it around what matters
These are planning suggestions, not a recovery schedule. Your doctor's advice for your treatment takes priority.
| What's coming up | Practical approach | Ask the doctor |
|---|---|---|
| Wedding, photoshoot or major event | Have your first session well before, so a slower recovery still leaves time. If you have had Rejuran before, your own past recovery is a better guide than anyone else's. | How long do you expect marks or bruising to show for my area? Would you advise against this date? |
| Camera-facing or client-facing work | Book before a day off or weekend, or a period when you can work remotely, rather than the day before a key meeting. | Can I cover marks with makeup, and from when? |
| A flight or long trip soon after | Leave room to be reviewed before you go if something looks unexpected. | Is it fine to travel on this date? Who do I contact while I'm away? |
| Nothing important coming up | If your doctor confirms the treatment suits you, you have the most flexibility; still keep the rest of the treatment day unplanned. | What should I avoid for the first few days? |
Makeup, skincare and exercise
Get the clinic's written instructions on when and how you can apply makeup, restart active skincare and exercise. Do not copy another clinic's timeline or cover fresh injection points before you have been told it is fine.
When to contact the clinic
Do not wait it out if things are getting worse. Contact the clinic promptly if redness, swelling or pain is getting worse instead of better, if inflammation persists, if lumps or colour changes appear, or if anything looks different from what you were told to expect. The manufacturer's instructions also say to see a doctor promptly about persistent inflammation or other adverse reactions. For severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, seek urgent care where you are and bring your treatment details.
Questions before choosing a date
- Which Rejuran product and which areas are planned?
- What visible marks or reactions should I expect, and how much can that vary?
- Is my event, work or travel date a problem?
- When can I use makeup and my usual skincare?
- Who do I contact after hours?
Frequently asked questions
Can I have Rejuran the day before an event?
It is not advisable for a first session. Small marks, redness, swelling or bruising may still show, and there is no guaranteed time for them to settle.
When can I wear makeup?
Ask the treating doctor for written instructions for your area and technique.
Is Rejuran really zero downtime?
Not guaranteed. Marks, redness, swelling or bruising are possible, and how long they last varies. The manufacturer lists possible reactions but no recovery time that applies to everyone.
